DUSHANBE -- Tajik internet users receive up to 90,000 extremist messages daily, said Jurakhon Majidzoda, a member of the lower chamber of parliament, Wednesday (June 7), according to Avesta.tj.
Majidzoda, who did not disclose the source of his information, added that Tajikistan has about 3 million internet users, 80% of whom have access to undesirable websites. He gave the statistics during parliamentary discussion of proposed amendments to a law on police work.
Tajik authorities plan to step up their activity against extremist groups, he said, adding that those plans include gathering information on individuals and groups who promote extremism online.
