Nazarbayev warns of hacker threats, radical groups

ASTANA -- Kazakhstani President Nursultan Nazarbayev warned of new threats to national security, his official website said in a statement Thursday (July 13).

Nazarbayev spoke during a celebration of the National Security Committee (KNB)'s 25th anniversary.

As Kazakhstan undertakes the "digitisation of all aspects of life", cyber-security and protection against hacker attacks become essential, he said, according to Kazislam.kz.

Nazarbayev also warned of the challenge to national security posed by "radical groups ...nourished by terrorist organisations", according to his official site.
