TASHKENT -- Kazakhstani President Nursultan Nazarbayev Saturday (September 16) arrived in Tashkent for a one-day working visit, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) reported that day.

Nazarbayev conferred on regional issues with Uzbekistani counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who has worked to improve ties with Central Asian neighbours since taking office last year.

Mirziyoyev pointed to a breakthrough in economic co-operation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan this year, according to Nazarbayev's press office.

The presidents oversaw the signing of more than 10 agreements, CA-News.org reported that day. They covered matters like co-operation in energy and in sharing of water.
