'People's Lawyer' project offers free legal advice in Almaty

ALMATY -- Caspian University in Almaty is hosting a one-day event November 1 to provide free legal advice, Zakon.kz reported Tuesday (October 24).

As part of the "People's Lawyer" project, leading lawyers will give free legal consultations to Almaty residents.

Representatives from the Almaty municipal Prosecutor's Office and Justice Department and the DAMU Entrepreneurship Development Fund will be available to answer questions.

Project organisers include Paragraph, an online directory of government agencies and social service providers; Zakon.kz; Caspian University; leading lawyers; and the Almaty municipal Department of Justice, Prosecutor's Office and police department.

This is the third such event of its kind. More than 4,700 Kazakhstanis have received free legal advice so far in 2016-2017.
