8 Pakistani terrorists, police officer killed

ISLAMABAD -- At least eight terrorists and a police officer were killed in recent fighting in Swat and Quetta.

Police recently killed three terrorists in a shoot-out in Swat, District Police Officer Saleem Marwat said, according to Dunya TV.

The terrorists June 13 injured three police officers by attacking a police vehicle, Marwat said. Police tracked them down.

Police early June 14 in Quetta killed five militants in a shootout, SAMAA reported, quoting Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.

On June 13, gunmen killed Station House Officer Shabir Ahmed in Quetta, Dawn reported.

Ahmed served with the provincial Counter Terrorism Department, official sources said.
