BISHKEK -- Newly installed Kyrgyz Interior Minister Kashkar Junushaliyev June 14 explained his ministry's priorities at a news conference in Bishkek.
"The top priority of the police today is raising the level of public safety and public order, as well as winning the trust of our citizens," he said.
Junushaliyev listed a number of planned reforms by the Interior Ministry (MVD), including increasing the ability of the police to fight extremism and terrorism.
