Kazakh reporters learn about covering terrorist incident

KARAGANDA, Kazakhstan -- Forty Kazakhstani journalists are attending a multi-day Defence Ministry seminar on how to report a terrorist incident, starting October 8 in Karaganda, the ministry said in a statement.

The seminar, held at the Spassk military training centre, began with a hypothetical takeover by terrorists and a resulting liberation by special forces.

Instructors showed the journalists the behaviour of terrorists and special forces and taught them how hostages and journalists should behave in such situation.

The journalists also heard lectures about the peculiarities of covering terrorist acts and security measures, learned how to provide first aid.
