Uzbeks, Kyrgyz discuss bilateral, international issues

TASHKENT -- Uzbekistani and visiting Kyrgyz officials Monday and Tuesday (March 13-14) in Tashkent conducted talks on various issues, the Uzbekistani Foreign Ministry press office said in a statement.

Kyrgyz First Deputy Foreign Minister Dinara Kemeleva led her country's delegation.

The two sides discussed political, trade, transport, cultural and humanitarian issues as well as international and regional challenges.

Both sides expressed interest in further co-operation, including co-operation between their border zones.

Uzbekistan has worked to thaw ties with its neighbours since Shavkat Mirziyoyev became president last year.
