DUSHANBE -- Tajik police foiled 36 terrorist attacks in Tajikistan last year, according to Interior Minister Ramazon Rakhimzoda, Asia-Plus reported.
Rakhimzoda made his remarks Thursday (February 8) at a news conference in Dushanbe.
Information provided by the Interior Ministry to other countries also helped prevent several terrorist attacks abroad, including five in Russia, two in Uzbekistan and one each in Kazakhstan, Ukraine and China, Rakhimzoda said.
In 2017, 300 Tajik nationals were added to a list of internationally wanted suspects for committing serious crimes, he noted.
The project's goal is to provide surplus hydro-electric power from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to Afghanistan and Pakistan during the summer months.
