BISHKEK -- Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev August 26 presented keys to new apartments to a number of Kyrgyz troops, Atambayev's press office said in a statement. The move comes as the 25th anniversary of Kyrgyz independence nears.
"The joy of troops is the same joy that the president feels," he said.
In the past two years, the government has presented apartments to more than 1,000 military families, he said. "Those who are ready in hard times to defend the country are the same people who protect public safety in peacetime," he added.
