Staff Report

MONTREAL, Canada -- The Montreal-based firm Arton Capital has published a Passport Index ranking countries on the influence of their passports, CA-News.org reported Tuesday (January 17). The criterion is how many countries a passport holder may enter without a visa.

Kazakhstan's passport ranked 60th in the world -- the strongest performance among Central Asian states -- with visa-free privileges in 69 countries.

Turkmenistan ranked 79th in the world and worst in Central Asia, with visa-free privileges in 49 countries.

The worst performer in the world was Afghanistan, whose passport holders may enter only 23 countries visa-free.
