DUSHANBE -- Tajik and Afghan officials Wednesday (May 3) in Dushanbe discussed prospects for economic co-operation, Avesta.tj reported.
The participants were Sharif Said, chairman of the Tajik Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Afghan Ambassador to Tajikistan Zalmai Yunusi.
Said and Yunusi discussed efforts to step up bilateral trade and to encourage the participation of Afghan businesses at international exhibitions in Tajikistan, among other topics.
"The potential is enormous," remarked Said, pointing to exports of Tajik cement and other materials to Afghanistan. He invited Afghan businesses to participate in a July trade fair in Dushanbe.
