Kyrgyz General Staff holds exercise

BISHKEK -- Members of the Kyrgyz military General Staff and the State Defence Affairs Committee November 16 in Jetigen, Talas Province, began a three-day-long operational exercise, the General Staff press office said in a statement.

The exercise was part of the 2016 training plan for the armed forces and was meant to devise a way for the two agencies' managements to work together, the General Staff said.

During the exercise, officers will learn about the miitary and political situation in Central Asia and the Middle East, as well as the armed forces' combat readiness. They will also review the results of exercises in 2016 and set goals for 2017 exercises.
