ASHGABAT -- Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov congratulated officers, enlisted men and cadets of the country's armed forces on the 25th anniversary of the forces' founding, his press office said in a Monday (January 30) statement.
"This holiday symbolises the concern, boundless respect and enormous trust of the state toward its armed forces," according to Berdymukhamedov's statement.
Events for the holiday included a military parade through the capital, which was meant to demonstrate the military's high readiness.
The country's latest military doctrine emphasises the support of neighbourly ties, non-interference in other states' internal affairs and similar values, Berdymukhamedov said in his statement.
