ASTANA -- The Kazakhstani military will help to secure the June 10-September 10 EXPO-2017 world's fair in Astana, said the Defence Ministry in a statement Thursday (June 8).
The troops' main tasks will include "protecting Astana airspace, strengthening oversight of Kazakhstani airspace and carrying out joint patrols with police", said the ministry.
Other parts of the military involved in protecting the sustainable-energy world's fair include anti-biological, -chemical and -radiation warfare teams and K9 and bomb squads.
