Kazakhstan detains suspected Kyygyz extremist

ASTANA -- Kazakhstani authorities recently detained a suspected Kyrgyz extremist, reported August 23, quoting the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry.

The Kazakhstani State National Security Committee (GKNB) made the arrest in Irgeli village, Almaty Province. The Kyrgyz national, a 40-year-old man from Uzgen village, Osh Province, is accused of creating, leading or participating in a terrorist group.
