TASHKENT -- Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's first official visit as president will be to Kazakhstan, AsiaPlus.tj reported Friday (February 24), quoting Fergana News.
The visit is scheduled for March. Mirziyoyev was elected last December.
Uzbek officials are making "the most thorough preparations" for the trip, said First Deputy Prime Minister Achilbai Ramatov.
Ramatov predicted "a new stage in our countries' strategic partnership", as he addressed a session of the countries' inter-governmental commission on co-operation.
The visit might occur March 22-23, though firm dates have not been set.
