AKTOBE, Kazakhstan -- An Aktobe court November 28 sentenced 29 men to various prison terms for their roles in a deadly June 5 terrorist attack in that city.
Sentences ranged from two years to life in prison. Seven of the defendants drew life sentences.
A group of 25 militants June 5 staged a number of terrorist attacks in Aktobe, killing eight Kazakhstanis. Security forces killed 18 terrorists and made several arrests.
