DUSHANBE -- The Tajik Border Forces reviewed their April achievements at a meeting of their leadership, Avesta.tj reported Tuesday (May 9), quoting Border Forces spokesman Mukhammad Ulugkhojayev.
In that month, the forces co-operated with other security agencies in carrying out seven operations, he said, adding that they arrested 42 violators of border regulations and prevented 32 attempts to cross the border illegally. They had two shoot-outs with drug traffickers and made 22 arrests.
The Border Forces also seized various weapons and drugs, including 0.5kg of heroin and 6kg of opium.
