Kyrgyz seize more than 80kg of drugs in 24 hours

BISHKEK -- Kyrgyz anti-drug authorities seized more than 80kg of narcotics in a single day, said the Interior Ministry (MVD) press office in a Monday (June 26) statement.

The MVD's anti-drug police made a number of drug busts nationwide in the past 24 hours, but the largest occurred in Tokmak, Chui Province, where authorities found opium poppies planted in flower beds. They seized more than 700 bushes that weighed more than 42kg.
