White House nominates new ambassador to Kazakhstan

WASHINGTON -- The White House Monday (August 13) announced in a statement its nomination of William H. Moser as the new US ambassador to Kazakhstan.

Moser has been a diplomat since 1984, said the statement.

He previously served in Kazakhstan as an energy attaché/economic officer and management officer when the embassy was in Almaty, according to the State Department.

Ambassadorial nominations require confirmation by the US Senate.
