DUSHANBE -- A group of Tajik paratroopers are in the United States to take part in a military exercise in Massachusetts from September 10-21, Asia-Plus reported Tuesday (September 11).
More than 200 troops from Central and South Asia, including from Afghanistan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, are participating in the Regional Co-operation 2018 exercise, according to a Pentagon statement.
The drills, organised by US Central Command, are taking place in Massachusetts.
The exercises are meant to promote co-operation and inter-operability. Participants are learning to fight terrorism, drug trafficking and other trans-national crimes.
