LAHORE, Pakistan -- Kyrgyzstan is planning to launch nonstop flights to Pakistan to increase trade, attract investment and promote tourism between the two countries, the Express Tribune reported Sunday (March 3), citing Kyrgyz Ambassador to Pakistan Erik Beishembiev.
Beishembiev made his remark at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
"We need to be connected," he said.
Nonstop flights should start as soon as possible to bolster trade and economic relations, said LCCI President Almas Hyder.
"Meagre trade between the two sides indicates that our business and economic relations have not adequately developed," he said, adding that trade per year has amounted only to slightly more than $1 million.
